Meet Mike and Michelle Mennard
Your guides to tap into the gravitational pull
of The Chummy Effect.

Over approximately thirty-five years, Mike and Michelle Mennard have observed and explored loyalty and attachment across restaurants, churches, classrooms, companies, audiences, families, and community organizations.
Mike and Michelle began asking the question behind The Chummy Effect early in their marriage. Their backgrounds include public relations, leadership, marketing, communication, English literature, theology, teaching, ministry, workshops, and creative work.
Mike is a writer, educator, speaker, musician, former pastor, and longtime professional performer whose work has centered on the question of what makes people connect, participate, return, and feel that they belong. As a children’s and family entertainer, he has released fifteen albums and spent years learning—in real time—what makes an audience feel welcomed, involved, remembered, and eager to return.
He achieved his Master’s degree in English, with an emphasis in Biblical Literature, at Sonoma State University.
Michelle is a long-time educator and university administrator. She has served in many roles at Union Adventist University in Lincoln, Nebraska, including Associate Professor of Communication, chair of the Humanities Division, Associate Academic Dean, and the Vice-President of Enrollment Services. In addition, she has served as the director of public relations at Pacific Union College in Angwin, California.
She achieved her Master’s degree in Public Relations at Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
